Your contract is with Destination Edinburgh Ltd. (DE for the purpose of these Terms & Conditions), Destination Edinburgh Ltd (24 York Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3EP) a company registered in Scotland, and complying with the laws of Scotland. If you wish to book via telephone or online (either direct or agency booking) we will assume you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
Bookings
It will be understood the lead person (person who dealt with a member of DE staff or named on the booking confirmation as arranging the apartment stay) has authorization from all members of his/her group to act on their behalf, and that lead person will be held responsible for collecting and paying the full amount for the apartments. In the event one or more members of his/her group do not pay, he/she will be held liable. This person must be over 18 years of age. It will also be understood the lead person has informed his/her group of the Terms & Conditions and they accept them.
We expect all guests to act and behave in a courteous manner to all other residents of the apartments.
You are liable for any damage caused by you or your group with a credit card pre authorisation of £500 required prior to or on arrival (this is authorized but not taken unless damage caused).
You will be held responsible, and liable to pay compensation, for any damage caused to the apartment, equipment within the apartments, or excessive noise causing distress to other guests / general public and will be liable for any refunds issued. This will be held from your credit card limit on arrival and released on departure subject to final check by the apartment manager.
The apartments are all strictly non smoking and any evidence of smoking will mean loss (or part loss) of damage deposit.
We make every effort to make sure the Apartments are in a safe and suitable condition. Please advise immediately if any problems.
Payment
A booking is not confirmed, until we receive a minimum Deposit of 25%. This can be paid by online or by calling the office and paying via, cheque, bank transfer, debit or credit card.
Credit card payments incur an extra 2.5% charge & Debit Cards have an additional £1.00 charge, per transaction. Cheques (Sterling) should be made payable to Destination Edinburgh Ltd.
Online payments by debit or credit card incur no additional charges.
The whole deposit is non-refundable whatever the amount paid. The balance must be paid at least 4 weeks prior to arrival. Any bookings made within the 4-week period must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Any changes to the booking may incur extra costs.
Please note if guest numbers drop you are still liable for the minimum amount of the apartment rate.
Please note that any payments made to Destination Edinburgh Ltd are wholly non refundable.
Cancellation or Alteration by Client
In the event of cancellation by you, DE will retain all payments to date and will be entitled to recover, if not already paid, the following balance of total cost:
More than 4 weeks before arrival date 25% Deposit will be retained.
Less than 4 weeks before arrival date 100% Total cost (minimum rate per apartment) will be retained.
We strongly recommend you take out insurance to cover all eventualities.
You may alter your booking if you wish and we will do our best to accommodate you. However, any costs incurred in the alteration will be passed on to you, along with any additional costs depending on the alteration. You may also cancel at any time but any cancellation will be subject to the same conditions previously stated.
Cancellation by Destination Edinburgh
This is a very unlikely situation & DE will only cancel if, for unforeseen reasons, which are beyond are beyond our control, for example –
- The apartment becomes unavailable for any unforeseen reason
- We cannot re-locate you to another Hotel/Apartment
- We discover by carrying out the booking our reputation may be damaged
Under these circumstances we will make a Full refund.
We reserve the right to cancel any booking if payment is not received by the required date.
We reserve the right to cancel owing to Force Majeure (includes war, threat of war, riot, civil disobedience or strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or industrial disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, unforeseen operational decisions of air carriers such as changes of schedule, or any unforeseeable or unavoidable events beyond the Company's control.)
DE will never cancel a package within 30 days of the event except for reasons of Force Majeure. If we cancel before that period we will endeavor to arrange alternate accommodation, the price difference payable/refundable as appropriate. Alternatively a full refund will be made.
We make every effort to accommodate all booked clients but if we feel the apartments are not safe or require essential maintenance we will make every effort to relocate or provide a full refund.
What Happens Next?
Once all the formalities have been dealt with and full payment has been received, you will be sent a confirmation email/letter which contains all the relevant information you will need for your stay.
It will be the lead person's responsibility to check the information contained is correct and notify DE immediately if there is a query with the booking. We do not accept responsibility if you delay more than 7 days before notifying us. It will also be the responsibility of the lead person to notify other guests.
Additional Options
To ensure you have an enjoyable visit Destination Edinburgh offers additional options to all guests, this includes recommendations on places to visit and where to eat and drink around to your apartment. We can arrange transfers, attraction and event tickets but this must be pre-booked with the office prior to arrival. These are available at an additional cost but will be provided by Destination Edinburgh Limited.
VAT
Destination Edinburgh Limited is VAT registered. VAT is included in the price of the accommodation package as part of Travel Margin Scheme, all prices quoted include VAT. Destination Edinburgh Limited is unable to provide VAT invoices or receipts, which allow recipients to reclaim the VAT paid because the scheme which the company is registered under for VAT payment does not permit this. Destination Edinburgh Limited will provide an invoice or receipt for the total amount paid inclusive of VAT
Data Protection
Occasionally DE may wish to access any information you provide when you make a booking, such as your name and address, for marketing purposes such as sending you latest offers. If you do not wish to receive these communications please write to the address at the top of the page. These offers will be from DE or related companies only.
